When is the Fijian Cup Outrigger happening?<\/em><\/h2>\nWe\u2019re planning a one-day showcase regatta on the Sigatoka River, Coral Coast, on Saturday 5 December 2026, with competitive V6 Va\u2019a racing plus the Bilibili bamboo raft race. From there we\u2019re working toward a full international Va\u2019a regatta on 10\u201311 December 2027, with $50k+ in prizes. Sign up at fijiancup.com\/outrigger and we\u2019ll keep you posted.\n

How much does the Fijian Cup Outrigger cost?<\/em><\/h2>\nPackages start from $1,499 per person. You lock in your spot with a $50 per person deposit and pay the balance via weekly or monthly instalments.\n

Where is the Fijian Cup Outrigger happening?<\/em><\/h2>\nRace day is based at the Sigatoka Club, right on the Sigatoka River with direct access into town. Crews race 250m sprints, with the Bilibili raft race run alongside.\n

What divisions are in the Fijian Cup Outrigger?<\/em><\/h2>\nFour divisions: Open Men\u2019s, Open Women\u2019s, Masters Men\u2019s and Masters Women\u2019s.\n

What is included in a Fijian Cup Outrigger package?<\/em><\/h2>\nReturn flights, accommodation at Shangri-La Yanuca Island, daily buffet breakfasts, all coach transfers, full regatta entry, a welcome cultural function with canapes and drinks, and an awards evening with a traditional Fijian lovo dinner and cultural performances.\n

How do I enter a team in the Fijian Cup Outrigger?<\/em><\/h2>\nRegister your interest at fijiancup.com\/outrigger. Our team will be in touch to confirm your spot as the regatta comes together.\n

Is the Fijian Cup Outrigger televised?<\/em><\/h2>\nNot for the 2026 showcase, but the international regatta on 10\u201311 December 2027 will be broadcast live across Fiji, New Zealand and Australia.\n

Can I bring family who are not paddling?<\/em><\/h2>\nYes. Couples packages include the option to add children, and non-paddling partners and family are welcome at the resort and at all social regattas. Regatta finishes at 2pm each day so afternoons are free for golf, spa treatments, snorkelling or time with the family.\n

Can a Fijian or Pacific team enter the Fijian Cup Outrigger?<\/em><\/h2>\nYes! Our first showcase regatta on the Sigatoka River brings together clubs from Nadi and Suva, backed by Fiji Outrigger and the Nadroga-Navosa Vanua, with a full international regatta planned for 10\u201311 December 2027. We will aiming for 2 Fijian crews per division.\n

Do We Need To Purchase An Official Package To Enter The regatta?<\/em><\/h2>\nYes, by group buying together we\u2019re able to deliver the best value-for-money packages while also underwriting the regatta and the incredible prize packages. These packages also help cover the costs of flying in representatives to run development and coaching clinics for our Fijian Hosts and also entry for Fijian teams who might otherwise struggle to afford entry. Due to the huge costs involved and limited seats on transfers etc, guests that haven\u2019t booked an official package are unable to join teams at official functions and on transfers.\n

How Do I Register To Play?<\/em><\/h2>\nTo compete all athletes must be registered with the purchase an official package at www.FijianCup.com\/ourigger. If you\u2019re short of crew, there are a number of Fijians who would love to join your team. Crew are limited to registering for one team only. To ensure crew accreditation and the printing of passes before commencement, all crew must have registered by booking an official package by NZT 5pm on 31st April 2027.\n

Do I Need An Accompanying Parent Or Guardian If I Am Under 18?<\/em><\/h2>\nYes you do. As there is travel involved if you are under 18 you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.\n

What Is Included In The Packages?<\/em><\/h2>\nRefer to the specific package page for a full breakdown of what\u2019s included!\n

If I Have Booked A Solo Package Who Will I Be Roomed With?<\/em><\/h2>\nIf you want to be roomed with someone specifically then we recommend you book a \u201cCouples\u201d package to guarantee this. All solo packages will otherwise be roomed with other team members. If you want to be roomed with someone specifically then this will need to go through your Team Manager. For teams that have an odd number of guests booked for the trip, one room will be a triple (each guests will have their own bed!) to avoid having to room with another team.\n

Can We Extend Our Trip?<\/em><\/h2>\nYes, after placing down your deposit we provide you the option to add a night or two either side or book an \u2018OWN FLIGHTS\u2019 package so you can stay in Fiji for as long as you want! As we bulk purchase \u2018return\u2019 flights we\u2019re unable to remove just one leg.\n

Are There Other Accommodation Options?<\/em><\/h2>\nWe\u2019ve secured a deal that makes this luxury resort option better value than lower star accommodation!!! Being based all together is also what makes this experience so incredible with access to the venues and a huge selection of bars and restaurants. As past attendees will advise this is an experience like no other and is the only way to make this regatta possible!\n

What Other Meal Costs Can We Expect?<\/em><\/h2>\nAn amazing full American style buffet is included in all packages. There are local food stalls are at the fields and with restaurants at the resort or local food offerings just across the road from the resort priced from AU\/NZD $10, you can budget for a reasonable cost per day when it comes to meals. A small shop can also be found within the Resort or a short trip to Sigatoka for additional snacks!\n

What Beverage Prices Can We Expect?<\/em><\/h2>\nBeer and wine can be bought locally starting from AU\/NZD$4 a pint and a full range of other drinks are available at the resort bars. You are welcome to bring Duty Free to the resort to drink in your rooms. No drinks packages are available to Fijian Cup guests.\n

What Other Inclusions Are There At The Resort?<\/em><\/h2>\nThere is always something happening around the swimming pools at the Resort, whether it be jazz pool aerobics or a pool volleyball game in one corner. Complimentary Wifi throughout the resort Children aged up to 12 years of age have complimentary access to a Kids\u2019 Club Plus a selection of Cultural Performances and Kava Sessions provided by the resort at various times.\n

Do I Need A Passport?<\/em><\/h2>\nYes, please also ensure that there is also at least six months until expiry from the date of your return, and the name in your passport is the same as the name in your booking.\n

Do I Need A Visa For Fiji?<\/em><\/h2>\nNZ & Australian citizens are automatically issued tourist visas when you arrive in Fiji. For more clarification on this and details on other national passports visit\u00a0here<\/a>.\n

Do I Need To Be Vaccinated?<\/em><\/h2>\nThe Fijian Government no longer requires proof of COVID19 vaccination to enter the country.\n

When Can I Find Out About Flight Times And The Itinerary For The Regatta?<\/em><\/h2>\nYour flight times can be found by simply signing in to your booking. There are no physical or e-tickets sent to you, you just need to turn up at the airport and check in at least 2 hours before departure, with your passport, ready for the time of your life! Your boarding pass will be issued to you when you check in at the Fijian Airways counter at the airport on your departure day. There is a general itinerary on the website.\n

Do I Need Travel Insurance?<\/em><\/h2>\nMost definitely! Travel Insurance can cover a range of unforeseen instances that affect travel, such as medical expenses, trip postponement, trip delay or baggage delay, just to name a few! For cover while also on the field Cover-More has advised us that their adventure package covers for non-professional sport!\n

How Do I Book?<\/em><\/h2>\nYou can secure your spot with a $50pp deposit, following payment of this deposit you will receive an email with the option to pay upfront or opt into a monthly or weekly payment plan. If no payment plan is selected within 7 days then your account will automatically be switched to weekly installments. If you haven\u2019t received an email, please check your SPAM\/JUNK emails.\n

What Payment Methods Are There?<\/em><\/h2>\nAll payments are transacted by Credit Card for security purposes. Failure to make timely payments may result in cancellation of your reservation. We provide a seven day window of lenience for payments to go through. The system will try to deduct the installment once every 24hours from the due date, for 7 days. A default fee of $4.00 is incurred for each failed attempt to cover transaction fees.\n

Can I Change My Package?<\/em><\/h2>\nExtensions & flights are adjustable up until 30 days following your initial booking (subject to availability, and prior to\n

What Currency And Payment Methods Are Available In Fiji?<\/em><\/h2>\nAll transactions in Fiji will be in Fijian Dollars. While at the resort you can charge your expenses back to your room and pay this amount via credit card or with Fiji cash on check out!\n

What Fees Should I Know About?<\/em><\/h2>\nAirport Fees: Nil, we have this all covered in your package cost.\u00a0Additional Taxes: Nil, we have this all covered in your package cost.\u00a0Name change fees: We provide the ability to change your name, or those travelling with you free of charge up until approximately 45 days out from departure, after that name changes are $250pp per change (plus fees) and are subject to availability. Is There A Fee For Checked Luggage With The Airline?<\/em><\/h2>\nOur flights for the Fijian Cup include standard check-in and carry-on luggage. (30kg Checked in & 7kg Carry on at time of writing this page)\u00a0Please refer to Fiji Airways website for more information on standard luggage allowances\u00a0<\/a>and for Children and Infant luggage allowances.\n

Are Hotel Deposits Required?<\/em><\/h2>\nYes, as standard practice when checking into a hotel there is a FJD$500 per room security deposit required upon check in at the Resort \u2013 this can either be held against your debit \/ credit card or in FJD cash. This can be used to pay any resort tabs that have been run up during the stay, or refunded on check out if no damage has been done to the room\u00a0and there are no outstanding charges against your room.\n

What Happens If I Am Late In Paying An Instalment<\/em><\/h2>\nFailure to make timely payments may result in cancellation of your reservation. We provide a seven day window of lenience for payments to go through.\n

Can I Transfer My Reservation To Someone Else?<\/em><\/h2>\nIn most cases, yes, you may transfer your reservation to someone else, free of charge, up until approximately 45 days out from the trip you can do this online by signing into your account. Within approximately 45 days, name changes are possible, but incur a $250 per person, per change (plus fees)\u00a0change fee and are subject to\u00a0availability. Top Tip: Please ensure you\u2019ve secured travel insurance!\n

Can I Plug In My Electrical Equipment?<\/em><\/h2>\nFiji has the same electrical outlets and power supply as in Australia and New Zealand.\n
